How I survive my first trimester

I can tell you my first trimester is living hell. Everyday I would tell my partner that I'm dying soon and I never been so sick throughout my entire life. My colleagues were worried as I'm almost white as sheet. End up my gynae gave me 1 month hospitalization leave to rest at home.

Nothing can make my morning sickness to go away. But these 3 items do help me to lessen the effects of my morning sickness.

The journey between my home & work is about 30mins car ride. Motion sickness + morning sickness can literally kill me. Drinking this once I reached my office definitely ease my suffering by 50%. By the way my morning sickness is not morning only. Is the full entire day! So I don't only drink this in the morning, I drink this for the whole entire day. Selling at USD4.99 at Iherb.

As and when when I'm feel like I'm going to vomit in the next min, I will pop in this sweet. It works, and the feeling of going to vomit will vanish into the air. Fruity taste which is combination of sweet & sour. My favourite is green apple. This is especially helpfully during travelling. Selling at USD5.12 at Iherb.

As I mention, my morning sickness is the entire freaking day. So this is further aid to the tea & sweet. After my morning bathe, I would instantly wear this on my wrist. When I'm back home from work, I will remove it. The band is quite tight because need to press on the right point on your wrist, so sometimes my hands will feel cramp. In this case, I would remove it and wear it again in an hour time. Selling USD6.75 at Iherb.

If you are having the worst morning sickness like me, you can consider buying the above 3 items and try it out. It's not expensive and very affordable. And continue to pray that your morning sickness will be gone asap. Mine stops around week 13, but motion sickness still will trigger the morning sickness.

REVIEW: Nature Made, Prenatal Multi + DHA, 90 Softgels

Blackmore Conceive Well Gold is a popular choice for prenatal vitamins and I have been taking it for 3 months before I switched to Nature Made Prenatal. The reason is Blackmore Conceive Well is quite expensive - SGD39 retail price. Most of the time when I take it after meal, I will still feel nausea. $39 per month for prenatal vitamins is really quite steep for me. So I decided to get Nature Made Prenatal from Iherb. 90 softgels cost me SGD25 and this can last me for 3 months.

I'm on my second bottle now (since I'm still not pregnant yet). If I take it with empty stomach, I definitely will feel nausea. So I will always take it with full stomach. You can check the supplement facts against Blackmore Conceive Well Gold. Nature Made Prenatal has slightly lesser vitamins than former, but have higher amount of folic acid. As for me, my gynae approved it, it's cheap, I will continue eating it

Meetup with my buddy and have a great lunchie to celebrate his birthday. Since we are both busy and have not met up with each other probably few months, there is alot of updates. I guess the highlight is I'm getting more eccentric (he emphasis not eccentric, is MORE eccentric because I'm always been weird since he knows me from day 1) Well, I know I'm different and that's why I'm special.

The thing is when you grow older, or rather when I grow older, I put my happiness higher and higher in priority. I do not understand social norms and peer pressure, and now I don't even pretend I understand at all.

So my buddy was complaining about his lack of love life and all his friends was attached, and most of the times he is alone (which is totally not true). I was talking about most of my time is spend with my partner & family. I don't really hang out with "friends" anymore. He asking what happen to my "friends". I exclaimed "Thought I told you before these girls are being dramatic and try to make my life miserable. I axe all of them after they still try to be funny with me when I warn them I reached my limit" My buddy was asking why so many months I still have not make up with them. The thing is why should I? Unless they do something which makes me feel that I'm not going to get these drama shit again. I do not need friends that makes my life sucks. I do not need friends that gossip behind my backs and pretend they are my BFF in front of me. I don't know is it a girl thing and I never really been a female anyway (mentally). So now my motto is I will not hesitate to kick anyone out of my life if they make my life suck.

I do not understand why people can rant over something again and again. If you hate it and is a eye sore, get rid of it. How do ranting helps? Be it jobs, friends or partner, either accept it (and stop ranting), change it or get rid of it. Unless you love having your life miserable, then just continue stick with it I guess. I guess in most cases people reach 60s, they stop caring about social norms & peer pressure. And people starts saying that they are getting eccentric. Mine start early in the 30s. Either accept who I am or bug off! *shrug*

REVIEW: ALISEA Boutique Hotel.

This is (almost) one month post as I have been back from Krabi almost 4 weeks. We were looking for reasonable priced hotel which is located at Aonang Beach. Alisea happens to fit the bill. For the suite, it costs us about SGD100 per night. For normal room, is arnd SGD60 if I remember correctly. My advise is get the normal room as the suite is not worth it.

As you can see the room is very spacious with a mini balcony. There is stairway up to the loft and to the wooden bath tub at the second floor balcony. The second floor balcony is not well maintained and the wooden bath tub is dirty & leaking. After cleaning the tub (by ourselves), we realized the leak when we filling up the water in the bath tub and saw steams of water leaking out of the tub. The shower head in the bathroom is very good though. There is also glass panel so that you can look thru the bathroom to the bedroom.

The facility in the hotel also quite limited. Infinitely pool is quite small. The services (check in check out) is pretty fast though. Car park lot also very limited, 4 lots if I remember correctly. Hence every time we drive out, we have to reserve a lot from the receptionist.

For the location, it is 10mins walk to Aonang beach. So it away from the crowded yet near to the beach. Then again, there is nothing much in Aonang beach. So no point staying near it if you want a beach view. Good for shopping and eating though.

Most likely I will not stay in the hotel again. Beside the good services from the hotel staff, I would prefer another hotel which is not around Aonang beach as it is too rowdy. The facilities of the hotel is quite limited too. My bf said that my standard is too high because my expectation is JW Marriott Khao Lak.

Lately my boss was crazy over fishing so we have fishing trip over the weekend. We hired a yacht which costs us SGD990 for 8 hrs. Additional SGD100 for BBQ buffet 10 person. Wasted half of the day cruising around Sentosa as the captain is not an experience "fisherman" hence he doesn't know where is a good location. Lucky we found a good spot to fish at last 2 hours on board. The BBQ is fabulous, alot of chicken wings and prawns were leftover! Too bad I didn't bring any container, if not I would pack these food back.

Below are the fishes we caught. I only caught a parrot fish and my bf caught a mini grouper.

Fresh fish is really much more troublesome than fishes bought at NTUC. The uncle / auntie will help me to remove the scales and de-gut the fishes. I have no problem de-gutting the fishes. But scrapping off the scales is damn hard, especially the fishes is not that big. So I have the grab the slimy head and try to scrap off as much scales as possible.

The most delicious one is parrot fish, follow by mini grouper. Now my bf will be on the lookout for parrot fish because that is his favourite fish now.

Anyhow we have a good time over the weekend. I guess the only con is most of us had sunburnt. I'm the only lucky one who got a tiny shade darker. No red irritated sunburnt skin, no peeling or whatsoever. And all thanks to my Heliocare Oral Capsules (60 capsules)  & Banana Boat Ultramist Clear Defense Sunscreen SPF 50, 6 Ounce. Live experiments with 10 person. Me, the only one who took the pill in the morning and afternoon. Spraying the sunscreen every 3 hours. Did not suffer any real damage from the sun. My bf took the pill in the morning and spraying sunscreen every 3 hours become one shade darker but still no sunburnt. As for rest of my colleagues only took the pill in the morning, and re-apply their sunscreen every 3hours have irritated red sunburnt. Those who did not re-apply sunscreen has peeling skin the next few days.

I guess for the next fishing trip, they would follow my sun protection routine religiously. LOL~

Scrolling my Facebook wall, and alot of people is commenting it is getting more and more expensive to live in Singapore. Singapore is voted to be the top few expensive city to live in. Is Singapore an expensive city to live in? Definitely I would agree with you on this. But is it getting more and more expensive? Yes it is, but the whole entire world is getting more and more expensive to live in. I guess that is called inflation *shrug*

I have friends who live in Europe or UK saying Singapore definitely is cheaper. I would tell them "Arbuden!" Because they are converting the currency, rather than taking dollar for dollar. For example, Mac Donald set meal in Europe cost about EUR7 and Singapore cost about SGD7. My friends would be screaming "See! It costs SGD10 in Europe!" Then again, if you looking dollar to dollar, it makes no difference. Likewise when we travel to Bangkok, everything seems cheap to us due to currency. But doesn't mean local Thai people thinks everything is cheap in Bangkok. I would say Cath Kidston is cheaper in London than Singapore, just by comparing dollar to dollar. Then again, even I convert the currency, it is still cheaper in London. Taking public transport in Gold Coast is very expensive to me. I never pay $4 for bus or train ever in Singapore. A 20mins journey in Gold Coast can easily cost me AUD4. Not to mention taxi fare! I took a cab from Harbor Town to Movie World, merely 30mins ride cost me AUD80! In Singapore, my journey from Jurong West to Changi Airport will be around SGD60. Compare dollar to dollar, Singapore is much cheaper. We can go round and round comparing different developed countries, but the bottomline is paying what is worth for.

I'm always been a big fan of Amazon. The reason is you can get almost everything much cheaper than Singapore. And the items sold by Amazon is eligible for free international shipping. Below are some of my buys:-

Veet Infini'Silk Pro Light-Based IPL Hair Removal System For Home Use
I bought it at USD93, which cost around SGD130. In Singapore, IPL home device easily cost more than SGD300.

3M Filtrete Fast Flow Filter
I bought it at USD9.87, which cost around SGD13.81. Singapore selling about SGD16.

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse

I bought it at USD12.92, which cost around SGD18.08. Singapore selling about SGD27 online. Not sure whether in toy store will be more expensive.

Heliocare Oral Capsules

I bought it at USD21.61, which cost around SGD30.25. Add CGW shipping charge, in total would be SGD38.25. Singapore is selling about SGD70 per bottle.

I can go on and on and on. From buying daily products from Amazon, and Vitamins from Iherb, the prices they offer definitely is cheaper than buying in Singapore. Rather than going on about how expensive Singapore is, you just have to learn to know where to buy your items from. Believe me, you would save alot from living in Singapore.

Montigo Resorts Nongsa Promotion

I been wanting to book the resort for some time after seeing all the nice photos which my friends post. But due to the expensive rate, SGD400plus for a seaview resort, stops me for booking it. Another reason is I heard alot of haunted stories from Montigo too. I guess the resort is near to the graveyard, so the "neighbours" will come to visit too?
Since there is new flexi-benefit given to me by my company, I have SGD800 to spend on holiday expenses. So the first resort is Montigo! I was browsing the rates in Cheap Tickets (since they have 20% discount code - NEWYEAR) But this time is still not that cheap after 20% discount, each night will costs me USD399.46 *faint* Then I went to Montigo's website and hopefully there is promotion. Well, they didn't update the 2015 promotion yet. Just when I'm going to give up, I saw a little side pop up.
You won't be disappointed in the rate, at least I'm not! SGD 358.46 nett per night for sea front villa! Yes, it includes the tax as well. But there is a fine print - only valid from Sunday to Friday which means no Saturday booking. No big deal, I just apply for 1 day leave from work.
After discussing with my bf & my friends, I guess 2D1N is too short especially you are only allow to check in at 3pm and check out at 12pm. I need 1 more saturday booking. Back to Montigo's website to scot for more promo codes. Ok, officially there is none. I proceed to do the booking without any promotion and maybe counter check the final price with Cheap Tickets later.
Surprise! There is a special 25% off for Spa villa which is the most expensive villa in Montigo. Comparing Cheap Tickets price for sea front villa USD399.46 (which is around SGD535.27) with the special. Definitely I'm booking directly with Montigo! Total bill: SGD799 for a night in sea front villa and a night in spa villa.
I'm so excited and will be waiting for my batam trip to come soon!
